UPSC photo with name and date
UPSC accepts a JPG photo and signature of 20–300 KB, each between 350 and 1000 pixels per side, and recent notices want your name and the date the photo was taken printed at the bottom. This page exports a 600 × 750 px photo with that strip already added.
How to use the tool

Type your name and date
The name and date strip is switched on for UPSC. Enter your name as in the application and the date you took the photo.

Add a fresh photo
UPSC wants a recent photo, so take a new one against a plain wall in good light.

Fit your face
Drag and zoom so your face covers about three quarters of the picture area above the strip.

Repeat for the signature
Open the Signature tab, upload a photo of your signature and download upsc-signature.jpg.

Does UPSC need the name and date on the photo?
Recent UPSC notifications ask for the candidate’s name and the date of taking the photograph to be printed on it. Confirm in the notice for your exam, and switch the strip off if it is not required.
What pixel size should my UPSC photo be?
Anything from 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 pixels is accepted. We use 600 × 750 px, which fits comfortably, and you can change it under Edit size.
How old can the photo be for UPSC?
UPSC has asked for a photograph taken not more than 10 days before you start the application. Keep the same photo for later stages of that exam.
What if my signature file comes out below 20 KB?
A clean signature compresses very well. The tool raises the quality first and, if needed, adds blank bytes inside the file so it meets the 20 KB minimum without changing the picture.
Can I sign in capital letters?
No. UPSC, like most exam bodies, wants your normal running signature, not your name written in capitals.
