How to use the tool

Upload your photo
A recent colour photo with a white background works best for the PAN card.

Crop to the PAN shape
The frame is the narrow 2.5 × 3.5 cm shape used on the card; keep your face centred.

Prepare the signature
In the Signature tab, keep Black & white on so the ink becomes clean black on white.

Upload on the PAN form
Download pan-card-photo.jpg and pan-card-signature.jpg and attach them in the documents step.

What is the PAN card photo size for NSDL?
Protean asks for a JPG scanned at 200 DPI, 3.5 cm high and 2.5 cm wide, up to 50 KB. That is 197 × 276 px.
What is the PAN card signature size?
A black-and-white JPG at 200 DPI, 2 cm high and 4.5 cm wide, up to 50 KB, which is 354 × 157 px.
Is UTIITSL the same as NSDL for PAN photos?
No. UTIITSL uses its own sizes (for example 213 × 213 px). Use Edit size to match the UTIITSL form if you apply there.
Will my signature look faint in black and white?
The Black & white switch darkens the ink and whitens the paper. Sign with a thick black pen for the clearest result.
