Do I need to upload a photo for an Indian passport?
Usually not. At Passport Seva Kendras and post office centres your photo is taken at the counter. You need a passport-size photo for other forms, some embassy applications and annexures.
What size is a passport photo in India?
The common size is 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm tall, in colour, on a white background, with the face clearly visible and looking straight ahead.
How do I print passport photos at the right size?
The file carries 300 DPI, so printing it at 100% (not “fit to page”) gives 3.5 × 4.5 cm. Many photo shops can print several copies on one sheet.
Can I smile or wear glasses?
Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed. Avoid tinted glasses and glare; many authorities now prefer photos without spectacles.
