What size should passport documents be?
Limits vary by portal and change over time, so always follow the size shown on the upload page. 200 KB per document is a common safe target and is preselected here.
Is it safe to compress my Aadhaar or birth certificate online?
This tool never uploads your file: compression happens inside your browser. That is safer than services that send documents to their servers.
Should I use colour or black & white?
Colour is safer for documents with coloured stamps or photos. Use black & white only if the portal accepts grayscale scans.
The document is blurry after compressing. What can I do?
Rescan it flat with good light, crop the edges, and include only the required pages. A cleaner scan compresses far better.
