Choose the first version: a PDF, a Word .docx or a .txt file.

Choose the second file. You can even compare a PDF with a Word document.

Edited words are marked in yellow rows, removed text in red and new text in green, with page numbers for PDFs.

For two PDFs, switch to Visual to see changed areas outlined in red on each page.

Can I compare a PDF with a Word document?
Yes. The text of each file is extracted and compared, so a PDF can be checked against a .docx or a text file. Visual comparison needs two PDFs.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Scans are pictures of pages, so there is no text to compare. Use Visual mode with two PDFs to see which parts of each page differ.
What does “Ignore spacing” do?
It skips differences in spaces, line breaks and blank lines, which often change when a document is re-exported, so you see only real wording changes.
Are my contracts uploaded?
No. Both files are read and compared inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which makes it safe for agreements and legal documents.
Can it compare old .doc files?
Only .docx. Open a .doc in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx or PDF first.
