My name is shorter than 4 letters. What is the password?
Use the whole name in capitals followed by the birth year, for example RAM1985 for Ram born in 1985.
Is the unlocked e-Aadhaar still valid?
The content and digital QR code are unchanged. The digital signature check may show as invalid after unlocking, so give the original file where a verified e-Aadhaar is required.
Is it safe to unlock Aadhaar online?
On this page, yes: the file is processed in your browser and never uploaded. Avoid websites that ask you to upload your Aadhaar to a server.
Should I share the unlocked copy?
Share a masked Aadhaar where possible, and add a watermark such as “For bank KYC only” with our watermark tool.
