Is it legal to remove the password from my statement?
Yes, for your own statements. You already have the password; this only saves a copy that doesn’t ask for it. Don’t unlock documents that belong to someone else.
Will the unlocked statement still be accepted?
Yes. The content, bank logo and figures are unchanged; only the encryption is removed.
I have 12 monthly statements. Can I combine them?
Yes. Unlock each one, then use Merge PDF to join them into a single file for your loan application.
Should I keep the unlocked copy?
Only as long as you need it. Delete it from shared devices afterwards, since anyone can open it.
