Why separate materials and labour?
Clients can see where the money goes, compare with other quotes and choose to buy materials themselves. It also makes it easier to revise one part if prices change.
Which units can I use?
Any. Suggestions include sq.ft, rft, cu.ft, nos, bags, kg and job, and you can type your own. Switch units off under the items list if you prefer a simple list.
What GST applies to contract work?
It depends on the kind of work and the customer, and works contracts have their own rules. Confirm the correct rate with your accountant; you can then pick it for each line or turn GST off.
Can I add more stages like plumbing or false ceiling?
Yes. Use “Section heading” to add as many groups as you need and reorder lines with the arrows.
