Word to Excel tables in one step

Pasting a Word table into Excel often merges cells or shifts columns. Add the .docx instead: every table becomes its own Excel sheet with the first row as a bold header, merged cells are spread out cleanly and amounts become real numbers. If the document has no tables, each paragraph becomes a row. The file is read on your device.

How to use the tool

  1. 1

    Add the Word file

A .docx from Word, Google Docs (File → Download → .docx) or WPS. Old .doc files need saving as .docx first.

  2. 2

    Check the tables

Each table is shown as a sheet. Tick “Also take the text outside tables” to keep the paragraphs too.

  3. 3

    Choose Excel or CSV

Excel keeps the tables on separate sheets; CSV writes them one after another.

  4. 4

    Download

Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets or WPS Office.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to merged cells?

The text goes into the first cell of the merged area and the others are left empty, so columns stay lined up for sorting and filtering.

Are pictures and formatting kept?

No, only the text in each cell. Bold header rows are added automatically.

Is my document uploaded?

No. It is opened and converted inside your browser.
