What is a wa.me link?
It is WhatsApp’s official click-to-chat link. Opening https://wa.me/<number> starts a chat with that number without the customer saving it to their contacts.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The link and QR work the same for WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business numbers.
Can customers edit the pre-filled message?
Yes. The message appears in the chat box and the customer can change it before sending. Nothing is sent automatically.
Will the QR show my phone number?
The number is part of the link, so anyone who scans it can see it, just as when you share your number. Use a business number if you prefer.
Why does the link say the number is not on WhatsApp?
Check the country code and remove any leading 0. Indian numbers should be 10 digits after +91. The number must have an active WhatsApp account.
