What should a payment receipt include?
The receipt number and date, who paid, the amount in figures and words, the payment mode and reference, what the payment was for, and the signature of the person receiving it.
Is a receipt the same as an invoice?
No. An invoice asks for payment; a receipt confirms that payment has been received. Many businesses issue both: the invoice first and a receipt once the money arrives.
Do I need a revenue stamp on a receipt?
For cash receipts above ₹5,000, a revenue stamp is usually affixed and signed across. The tool shows a box for it on such receipts. Rules vary by state and case, so check if you are unsure.
Can I make receipts for many months at once?
Yes, for rent. Choose Rent receipt, pick the first and last month, and you get one receipt per month, two per A4 page, in a single PDF.
Are my details stored?
Receipts are made in your browser and a draft stays on your device. Nothing is saved to our servers unless you sign in and click Save.
