Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to scan unknown QR codes?

Scanning itself is safe; the risk is what you open. Fake QR codes can lead to phishing sites or pre-filled payments. This scanner shows the content first and never opens links on its own.

Can I scan a QR code from a screenshot?

Yes. Upload the screenshot or photo and the scanner reads the QR from the image, useful for codes received on WhatsApp or email.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The image is decoded in your browser. Neither the picture nor the QR content is sent to QRScanKaro.

Why won’t the camera start?

Allow camera permission when your browser asks. If you blocked it earlier, enable it in the browser’s site settings. Camera scanning needs a secure (https) page, which this is.

How do I spot a fake UPI QR?

Before paying, check that the payee name and UPI ID shown match the shop. Remember that you never need to scan a QR or enter your PIN to receive money.
