Can a normal phone photo really fit in 20 KB?
Yes, but not at full camera resolution. A 12-megapixel photo is reduced to a few hundred pixels wide, which is plenty for a form thumbnail.
My form also needs exact pixel dimensions. What should I use?
Use the photo and signature resizer instead. It crops to the exact width and height and then hits the KB range.
Why is the result 19 KB and not exactly 20?
The tool keeps a safety margin so that portals counting 1 KB as 1000 bytes still accept it. Anything under the limit is accepted.
Will my signature stay readable at 20 KB?
Signatures compress very well because they are mostly white. They usually fit under 20 KB with almost no visible change.
